How to Wash and Care—Silk Knit Series (Full-Needles Silk Knit Series & Brushed Silk Knit Series)

Our Full-Needles Silk Knit Series & Brushed Silk Knit Series use 100% washable silk. So you can easily wash it in your home washing machine. However, silk is still a delicate fiber. Follow our care instructions for your silks, and you will enjoy the best texture for a long time.

  • Be sure to use neutral detergent, detergent for silk, or ‘Delicate Wash’ detergent. Please refrain from using bleach.
  • Hand wash or select a cold, delicate cycle on your washing machine, which is usually called ‘delicate’ or ‘Hand Wash’.
  • Be sure to place your knit in the mesh laundry bag. It protect it from tangles and snags in the washing machine.
  • Animal fibers (silk and wool) may transfer dye between each other. For example, if black silk and white silk are washed together, the black dye may transfer to the white silk. To prevent this, it is recommended to wash them separately as much as possible, or wash them together with similar colors (darker colors, lighter colors, etc.).
  • If left wet, the color may migrate to other items. Dry it immediately.
  • Lay your knit flat on a drying rack in its natural shape to dry. Do not hang to dry - this may cause stretching of the knit.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Silk absorbs ultraviolet rays, so it may turn yellow when exposed to the sun. To prevent this, hang dry in the shade for a short period of time and avoid direct sunlight. Also, store it in a place where it is not exposed to sunlight or fluorescent light.
  • After drying, use a steamer to restore the shine and smoothness of your clothes, making them look like new in no time.
  • Due to the emphasis on texture, pilling may occasionally occur. Please remove pills carefully with scissors; do not attempt to pull them off.
